Early Pregnancy Signs & Symptoms
Every pregnancy is different, but here are some symptoms that might have you asking: Could I be pregnant?
- Did I miss my period?
- I feel nauseous or like I might throw up.
- My breasts feel more sensitive than usual.
- I’m running to the bathroom a lot.
- I’m more tired than normal.
- My emotions feel all over the place.
If this sounds like you, you’re not alone—and your body might be trying to tell you something.
Can You Still Be Pregnant If You Had Bleeding?
Yes. Some people experience light spotting or bleeding early in pregnancy, which can be mistaken for a period. This is sometimes called implantation bleeding,1 and it happens when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. It's usually lighter and shorter than a normal period.
How to Find Out if You’re Pregnant
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms or simply had sex recently without birth control, we have helped thousands of women facing the same questions.
Step 1: Take a Pregnancy Test
A lab-grade test can detect pregnancy hormones in your urine and is over 99% accurate when used correctly.
Alpha Health Resource Center offers these tests at no cost and in a confidential setting. If the test is positive, you may be eligible for a free, limited ultrasound to get more information.
Step 2: Get an Ultrasound
An ultrasound can confirm whether the pregnancy is viable—meaning it’s developing as it should and not located outside the uterus (like in an ectopic pregnancy).2
It also helps determine how far along you are and gives you a better understanding of what’s happening in your body.
